A Christmas Carol

A Musical to Raise the Spirits!

Book and Lyrics by Chris Blackwood
Music by Piers Chater Robinson

The ghostly tale of the Past, Present and Future is brought to life in this exciting new musical adaptation. Keeping true to the original Dickens text, it draws upon the themes of time, family and society's ills to warm even the coldest of hearts.

Beginning with a chilling visitation from Jacob Marley, penny pinching miser Ebeneezer Scrooge is shown the error of his ways. With the Ghost of Christmas Past illustrating the importance of family and friends, Christmas Present representing charity and benevolence and Future bringing in its wake what should happen if all these lessons are forgotten, Scrooge is faced with his own story of growing bitterness and meanness, and must decide what his own future will hold: death or redemption. Can Scrooge redeem himself, become a changed man and make his life mean something before it is too late?

Bringing the atmosphere of Victorian Christmas traditions to the stage, this vibrant and joyous musical takes you on a journey of discovery. A journey where the true meaning of Christmas is found. With a cavalcade of colourful Dickensian characters and a ghostly quartet of guardians, A Christmas Carol is the perfect way to get you into the Christmas spirit. Filled with joy, laughter and heartbreaking moments, this new adaptation has something for everyone, both young and old.

2012 marks the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens and this is Glow Theatre Group's contribution to the many cultural events, theatrical productions, films, festivals and exhibitions around the world commemorating the 200th anniversary of this great novelist and story teller.

Performances on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th December. Show time is 7.30pm, ticket prices are £6.50 available online or from 01883 720167
