We
are delighted to secure the services of Jill O’Hare as our Adjudicator for the
2009 Festival. As an experienced examiner and lecturer in the Arts she travels
extensively.
Jill
trained at The Guildhall School of Speech and Drama. She has run her own Drama
Studio and taught drama, communication skills and A-level Theatre Studies at schools
and specialist colleges. She currently teaches at the ‘Italia Conti’ school, Newbury,
Berks and examines for the ‘New Era Academy’.
Jill
is a professional actress and director, enjoying playing and directing in London’s
West End, Fringe theatres and television.
As
an adjudicator member of The British and International Federation of Festivals
she has worked in the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, Kenya, California and Singapore.
Jill is also a busy member of the Guild of Drama Adjudicators and has a special
interest in Youth Drama.
Being
involved in “Arts in the Community” Jill has recently directed the opera “The
Bartered Bride” and is about to start “Kiss Me Kate”. She is an active member
of Voice Care Network and is often asked to work with teachers and to instruct
on the general care of the speaking voice.
Jill
is delighted to be paying her first visit to the festival at the Barn Theatre.
