Having electrified
the world of musical theatre in 1943 with Oklahoma! Richard Rodgers
and Oscar Hammerstein II had a problem - could they top it, and if so,
how? The answer came on the night of April 19, 1945 at the Majestic
Theatre on Broadway. Carousel was an entire contrast to Oklahoma!, but
was otherwise as incomparable a mix of music, dance, character study
and all-around innovation.
'Carousel'
is packed with memorable songs such as 'You'll never walk alone' 'June
is Busting out all over' 'If I loved you' and 'When I marry Mr Snow''
Kenley Holiday Workshop will be presenting ‘Carousel’ at the Barn theatre
Oxted from August 14th to 16th evenings at 7:30 with a 2:30 performance
